This position will manage and lead a team of people in allocating workload and managing the day-to-day operations in the workshop. It requires the job holder to co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a quality standard.

JOB DESCRIPTION :
  • Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job schedulingand labor allocation for day-to-day 
  • Manage the team and Co-ordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities toeffectively manage 
  • Ensuresupplies are ordered for each 
  • Assistwith quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality 
  • Ensurecorrect job numbers are used and that time records are 
  • Provideoversight and check job 
  • Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods and receiptinginvoices
  • Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concernswith the CEO -  Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
  • Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as
  • Work with the CEO - Operations to respond to client’s requests for updates on thestatus of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.
  • Identify client’s needs and explain/demonstrate AMS's services to them, which mayinvolve technical descriptions of products and the way they may be 
  • Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer
  • Work with the CEO to investigate customer complaints and concerns arising fromproducts and suggest appropriate  Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action.
  • Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining toclient 

 

  • Identify staff that require on-going training and implement training opportunities toensure their skills are improved. Work with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills.
  • Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensurehuman resources are informed of trends in 
  • Promotea Health and Safety culture within the 

 

WHO CAN APPLY :
  • Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in related field
  • Stronginterpersonal skills
  • Abilityto work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management
  • Can look beyond the initial customer enquiry and identify other businessopportunities
  • CADdrawing skills are an advantage but not essential
  • Projectmanagement experience
  • Peoplemanagement skills
  • Computerliteracy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
